The Swiss International School and Dr Monica Neagoy will be hosting a Mathematics Workshop in February 2020 for international primary school teachers. The workshop presented by Dr. Monica will be an engaging, informative and inspiring event which will demonstrate how to teach mathematics in a contextual manner using concrete materials, pictures and abstract techniques. Teachers will be provided with research-based learning activities which allow children to gain meaningful connections and change their mathematical mindset.
Dr. Monica Neagoy is an inspiring and passionate international mathematics consultant. Dr. Neagoy began her career teaching mathematics at Georgetown University. Later, she was a program director at the National Science Foundation (NSF), where she oversaw national projects. As an international mathematics consultant, she has served numerous schools in the United states of America, Europe and the Middle East. She has served notable organizations including the Carnegie Institution of Washington, PBS TeacherLine, MATHCOUNTS, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (http://www.monicaneagoy.com/about-me/biography/).
